This is an architectural lighting installation that uses the reflections of the light to revitalize the public spaces utilized for transit or commute, such as elevators and train cars. These two particular spaces with extreme important functions had been relate to many safety concerns and mental resistance since Covid-19.
This project is aiming to lighten up the communication between the spaces and passengers. The reflections provides the space with dynamic ambient patterns to redefine the space. The dimensions of every unit space are standardized, but the pattern of lights turn the standardized space into varies modes.

The movements of the light source are controlled by the robot, and the reflecting device will exaggerate the change of the lights. The reflected moving patterns are creating a dynamic architectural environment. As the light sources and speed changes, the environment also switched into different atmospheres relate to human perception about distances and tensions. Different patterns also generate various atmosphere that influence passengers’ mood. The pattern of the reflection on the film paper are very close to the pattern of water. And the patterns from the laser lights are much sharper. The performance of the robot changes peoples feeling about the still space, including feels about the distances and weights. The paths of the movements are derived from geometrical information.
