Chaos & Order

For this project, I conducted two studies exploring the robot's capabilities in producing drawings as well as the potential of collaborative work between the robot and the person. Each page of my project is reflective of each study. The first study shows two trials of experimentation where the drawing process is interrupted, and I translate and rotate the paper or drawing plane before the robot proceeds to draw. These redundant transformations led to explosive, chaotic results. The second study is one on using depth and pressure to define line weights and the sectional dimension is emphasized and quantified. Unlike the first study, the second study was pre-planned during the scripting to explore the robot and drawing tool's capabilities. Nonetheless, the two studies explore concepts of chaos and order in drawing with a robotic arm.
